Line Expands Alaska Operations, Acquires Ferry Service

Glacier Bay Cruiseline announced today they have expanded their Alaska operations to include a daily ferry service from Juneau, AK directly into Glacier Bay National Park.
"We have worked very closely with the National Park Service to make this happen," states Greg Dronkert, President for the Line. "Acquiring the rights for this service were key to providing seamless service directly into the Glacier Bay Lodge, the only overnight accommodations within the Park…it's a natural fit for our company as we already operate the Spirit of Adventure, the only daily sightseeing vessel allowed to operate within Glacier Bay."
"This service will bring day-trippers, campers, kayakers and overnight guests directly into Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve from the State's capital. I think it is wonderful that Glacier Bay Cruiseline is able to offer this inexpensive alternative for anyone wishing to visit the Park. Formerly known as the Auk Nu Ferry, the service had been operated by Auk Nu Tours, a subsidiary of Goldbelt, Inc. The daily, passenger-only service has been re-named The Glacier Bay Ferry. Prices for the ferry service start at $69.00 per person for ferry-only service including transfers. A two-night Lodge package start at $565 per person including roundtrip transportation on The Glacier Bay Ferry. The route also services the town of Gustavus and will feature an optional whale watching cruise daily.
