Glacier Bay Cruiseline Welcomes Greg Dronkert
July 3, 2001
Seattle, WA. Formerly with Glacier Bay Cruiseline as vice president of operations, Greg Dronkert recently rejoined as president & CEO overseeing all aspects of the small ship cruise company.
A graduate of the California Maritime Academy, Dronkert has an extensive background in the marine industry including operations, fleet management, marine construction and vessel repair. Dronkert began his career in the industry at Crowley Maritime. After three years with Crowley and three years with Zidell, Dronkert headed north to Ketchikan, Alaska to join Ketchikan Shipyard, Inc. as vice president/general manager. In 1993, Dronkert relocated to Juneau to work for the Alaska Marine Highway System as marine facilities superintendent. After one year, the states governor appointed him director, responsible for the operation of the states eight vessel ferry systems including 31 ports and 3,500 miles of interstate and international routes.

Overseen by a board of nine directors, Goldbelt, Inc. is a for-profit, urban Alaska Native corporation, representing over 3,000 Tlingit and Haida shareholders. Goldbelt has pursued businesses in the tourism industry, acquiring several wholly-owned operating companies including Glacier Bay Cruiseline.
Glacier Bay Cruiseline is a small ship cruise and adventure tour company specializing in a variety of itineraries featuring Alaskas Inside Passage and Mexico's Sea of Cortez. The company owns and operates four small cruise ships including the M/V Wilderness Adventurer, M/V Wilderness Explorer, M/V Executive Explorer and the newly-refurbished M/V Wilderness Discoverer.
Glacier Bay Cruiseline is an official park concessionaire at Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve operating Glacier Bay Lodge, the only overnight accommodations located within the park and a day-cruise vessel, the M/V Spirit of Adventure.
