Seattle-based Cruise Line Announces Headline Sponsorship of 2002 'Bite'

May 29, 2002

Seattle-based Glacier Bay Cruiseline becomes the newest headline sponsor of the 2002 Bite of Seattle. Along with sampling some of the best food in Seattle, Bite attendees this year have the opportunity to win an Alaska Adventure Cruise package valued at $7,500 courtesy of the Line.

"We are delighted to be a part of this year's Bite," states Megan McKinney-Rickey, Marketing Manager for the Line. "This is one Seattle event that is on my personal 'must-do' list so I am thrilled to be involved in this year's festival. Since we are Seattle-based, we take great pride with community-wide happenings such as this."

To help showcase the Line's unique style of adventure cruising, Glacier Bay Cruiseline is giving away an Alaska cruise for two. This cruise package is complete with sea kayaking, Zodiac expeditions to the face of glaciers, remote island hiking, and exploration of Glacier Bay National Park. All this while cruising 7-nights aboard one of their specially designed small cruise ships called S.U.V.'s or Sport Utility Vessels™.

"Seattle is the perfect match for our style of soft adventure, high activity cruising," states McKinney-Rickey. "While some people are content to travel to the world's most pristine locations in a cocoon of luxury, we believe the best way is to experience everything first-hand-to get your hands a bit dirty-get out there, explore…this is the way to experience Alaska. And this is the cruise line that does it best."
